Dashcam footage captures the explosion on Interstate 405 in Los Angeles that caused the Getty fire.

Filmed on October 28, the recording shows a bright blue sharp flash followed by sparks flying across the road.

Authorities have said the fire was caused by high winds carrying a tree branch into a power line.

The Getty fire has burned through 658 acres with 1,100 firefighters tackling the blaze.

Yes I own this video as it is recorded directly from my dashcam. It has not been shared to any other licensing agency. Newsflare is the only place I have uploaded this video. I was driving north bound along the 405 freeway passing the Brentwood area of Los Angeles approaching the Getty Center area. It was chance that I had captured the explosion that occurred approximately around 1:28am. The video at 38 seconds in will show the explosion with blue flames. While passing the explosion and no longer in view of dash cam; my passenger and myself could see the transformer that exploded but thought the concrete walls surrounding it would contain the fire... that was not the case as the transformer must have continued to burn and catch the dry brush above it on the hill side. I uploaded the video to show from exit to exit to show exactly where the explosion occurred. This will be helpful should this video need to be used as evidence.
