Australian farmer rejoices after heavy rainfall amid record-breaking drought
An Australia farmer celebrates by diving into a floodwater and swimming after sudden rainfall breaks a record-breaking drought.
A series of heavy downpours across New South Wales brings much-needed relief to many farmers facing ruin.
The filmer told Newsflare: "2014 was the last time we had this amount of rain and in 48 hours we had 5 inches of rain.
"Dad has been feeding cattle and sheep for the last 5 years and works every day with barely a day off in extreme conditions (50-degree heat)... he takes it all in his stride and keeps pushing.
"I haven't seen a smile like this for a long time on him."
The joyous footage was captured on Sunday (November 3) in Bourke.
Much more water is needed to end the current drought but that didn’t stop farmers and their families from celebrating.
