A thief in central Russia was caught on camera stealing a battery from one of the vehicles in a guarded car park.

The dashcam footage, filmed on October 25 in Chelyabinsk, shows the balaclava-clad thief sneak in front of the car, at one point taking cover when a train passes by the edge of the car park.

The owner of the car commented: "My car was in a guarded parking lot. The thief stole car batteries from four cars. The guards did not see anything.

"The video was shot by my registrar until the battery was removed, then it turned off."
