枫林谷占森林覆盖率高达98.75%，植被具有多样性、过渡性、交融性的特点。独特的地理条件和丰富的森林植被，使枫林谷形成了独特的气候特点。由于温度适宜，一派雪国天境之景的雾凇山景图，从海拔几百米到1300多米的山谷中徐徐展开，连绵起伏将景区装点成仙境。
雾凇俗称树挂，是空气中过于饱和的水气遇冷凝华而形成的冰晶。
