A California family who were bored during lockdown played a revised noughts and crosses, or tic-tac-toe, game with their pet cats.

Sheena Molina played the game with her two daughters and their moggies Simba and Owen, who are both 18-months-old tabby cats, at home in Valcaville.

She said that the goal of the Xs and Os game is similar to regular tic-tac-toe, but this time you need to choose a player cat to represent you.

Sheena said: "If a player cat eats a treat that is placed inside the grid boxes, then it should be marked. The first to make a tic-tac-toe wins.

"They are not siblings but we adopted them together. We played this game for passing time during quarantine. Owen loves treats more than Simba and likes to cheat when they play."
