Citizens of Armenian descent in Greece's second city, Thessaloniki, staged an anti-Azerbaijan protest on Monday (July 27).

Protesters held a moment of silence for Armenian soldiers killed in recent skirmishes with Azerbaijani troops.

Armenia and Azerbaijan remain at odds over the long-disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, an ethnically Armenian enclave within Azerbaijan's borders.

Armenians of the diaspora protesting in Thessaloniki Greece against Azerbaijan’s aggression resulted in the deaths of Armenian soldiers at border clashes between the two countries. Protesters held Armenian flags, anti-Azerbaijani placards and chanted slogans. In the background of the demonstration a huge map of the Treaty of Sèvres who was never ratified, was presented. Protesters also hold a moment of silence for the Armenian soldiers killed during the past days. "We are gathered together here to unite our voices against Azerbaijan who is supported by Turkey they're trying to invade into our fatherland," said a participant in the protest named Tigran Sargsyan, on camera.
