CoastalBID Flower Project 2013.05.16
Marketing Video for CoastalBID.
CoastalBID Description:
If you go down to the beach today . . . you’re in for a big surprise!
Bournemouth will awaken to a delightful surprise on the Thursday 16 May as a section of Bournemouth’s seven miles of golden sand will be transformed by an abundance of colourful flowers.
This vibrant display will be located to the east of Bournemouth Pier forming part of the Blooming Beautiful Bournemouth campaign, which celebrates the arrival of spring in the town and the impressive floral displays which appear each year illuminating Bournemouth’s award winning green flag gardens.
Over 1,200 multi-coloured artificial flowers will be carefully placed in the sand in the early hours of the morning, creating a vivacious atmosphere and a fantastic photo opportunity.
This year’s Bournemouth Coastal BID’s spring campaign, undertaken in co-operation with Bournemouth Tourism, has seen colour being brought into the lives of commuters at Paddington station with real gerberas being given away for free. One commuter said, ““It was one of the nicest promotions I've seen at Paddington station. I have carried my flower from meeting to meeting all day long and everyone has loved it."
Bournemouth has also been promoted by the BID through national weekend advertising, promotions on London radio stations, and the hugely popular “Blooming Beautiful Business Competition” locally, in conjunction with the Daily Echo and Heart radio. The five finalists will be announced in the Daily Echo this coming Monday with just a week for people to cast their all important votes.
The captivating gerberas on Bournemouth beach, just for tomorrow morning, will also mark the exciting news that Bournemouth has been listed as a finalist in this year’s Britain in Bloom campaign. So make sure you come to see Bournemouth beach at its blooming beautiful best.
