Landlord's in New York City exploring illegal eviction & tactics through the pandemic. A well known issue since 1960s for illegal harassment & practice towards renter's, landlord's today are backed by NYPD.

Tasha R is a tenent of 181 Palmetto st Brooklyn NY ( Bushwick ) got a surprise text from her land lord saying

Yehuda Kohn :
Hi today you have a new roommate who lives there now just keep you informed.

His name is Robert.

Tasha R:
This is not acceptable. You cannot just move in a complete stranger room by room.

Yehuda Kohn : thats your Opinion.

Tash details that right after the textM a strange man arrived at the appartment and introduced himself as Robert and said to her he just rented the vacant bedroom.

An estimate 25% of NYC renters haven't been paying the rent, due to Covid-19 dry out.
Tasha couldn't effort pay the rent when most of her freelance work dried up due to the Covid-19.
Tasha said that Robert was hired by her landlord to intimidate her and her last remaining roommate into vacating the apartment without a legal eviction proceeding, which she’s currently is protected from by the state’s Safe Harbor Act.

Other measures, including a recently launched $200 million rental relief fund, to keep tenants in their homes preventing an expected wave of 100,000 pandemic-related evictions in NYC. Many tenants are in need of help but yet are disqualified from receiving the aid and that landlords like Tasha's will continue to deploy illegal harassment tactics to remove unwanted tenants.

Yehuda Kohn, who is listed as the agent of Catherine Realty USA, LLC, which owns Tasha's building, could not be reached for comment. The business is registered at 199 Lee Ave. in Williamsburg Brooklyn NY , Address provided is used by hundreds of anonymous landlords who own buildings in Brooklyn New York ( a sort of A Panamanian law firm well known scandal  Mossack Fonseca
unknown address).

Since Robert Arrival has been nothing but hostile, belligerent and threatening, Tasha states when i told him I have severe asthma, he immediately walked to the kiosk, bought cigarettes and proceeded to smoke them in the common areas and forced his way into the appartment.

When Tasha called the police, “officer's responded looks like you got your self a new roommate, better learn to get along with him and officer's left Tasha's appartment building.

After many attempts Tasha was able to arrest the intruder Robert and get a warning protection from the judge for
mr. yehuda kohn.

According to Equality for Flatbush, the police routinely side with landlords when renters report harassment or an illegal eviction, even when the law is on the tenants side.

in Crown Heights Brooklyn earlier this month a landlord couple broke into their tenants home at 1214 Dean St. and refused to leave prompting a standoff between the building owners and protesters that had arrived to support the tenants.

When the police arrived officers sided with the landlords and disregarded the protection act of the tenants.

officer's response was: of course they can do that of course they can move back The police don’t know the law, the NYPD are unfamiliar untrained with the law.

A filed recent complaints from Flatbush Tenent Ginger Ging Dwan Boyd, who recorded her landlord, Michael Weiss of Parkway Realty, breaking into her apartment using a power drill.

NYPD 70th Precinct did not arrest him. NYPD did not file a police report claiming that they were just changing the locks Boyd said in an post " changing locks so they could lock her out another type of illegal harassment " but yet that was no concern of NYPD.

After many attempts trying to contact
mr. weiss and finally Michael Weiss was contacted for a comment on the situation with Ginger Boyd he said he did not have a tenant like that in my lease rolodex before promptly hanging up.

meantime Tasha is in Bushwick anxiously awaiting Robert’s return. Volunteers from Equality for Flatbush are standing guard outside her apartment.

He’s going to make my life a living H E LL Tasha said And I really have no recourse, NYPD are just going to say it’s a bad roommate situation and I’ve got to figure it out.
