This is the adorable moment a cat was seen sitting on its owner's shoulders while they rode home together.

The old man carried his cat while cycling along the road in Zamboanga City, the Philippines on October 1.

The smart cat curiously watched the busy market district while effortlessly sitting on the back shoulders of the man travelling among cars and motorcycles.

Onlooker Jewbrecht Ormigas said he was coming home from work when he saw the cute pair on the busy road near the market.

He said: "Cats are usually aloof and distant from their owners so I was amazed when I saw the sweet cat. I wish I could have an impressive pet like that."

The owner of the cat is still unidentified, but Jewbrecht said he is probably a worker in the market.

He added: "The old man parked his bike beside a stall and entered with his cat. I think they sell fruits and vegetables there."
