This is the adorable moment an innocent puppy was excited to eat an invisible cheesecake which its owner pretended to take from a box.

Footage shows the cute puppy named Tokyo standing on its hind legs, waiting to have a bite of the invisible dessert in Makati City in Manila, the Philippines on September 19.

Pet owner Ivan Christian Sayson said they celebrated the first birthday of Tokyo so he bought a box of cheesecake for them and dog treats for the puppy.

The puppy knew about the treats so it was waiting beside him at the dining table to be given a treat finally.

However, the innocent dog thought Ivan is really holding a cake after he "took" one from the box and asked it if it wants some cheesecake.

Ivan Christian said: "We are lucky to have him. He's a genius. We've been training him a lot of tricks but he hasn't figured out the fake cheesecake joke yet."

Tokyo was eventually given the birthday dog treats after the invisible cheesecake joke.
