T&T's Second Largest Reservoir Overtops, Uses Navet Reservoir Spillway For The First Time for 2020
After two years of below-average rainfall, persisting rains over the last 36 hours across the southern and central areas of the country have replenished Trinidad's second-largest reservoir, the Navet Reservoir. The lower Navet Dam, attached to the Navet Reservoir, overtopped for the first time for 2020, causing the spillway to be utilized. However, this torrent of water caused a rupture on the 36-inch diameter Navet Trunk Pipeline, located in the forested cross-country area of Tabaquite.
