Thousands attended an opposition rally in Yerevan on Wednesday (December 23) in protest at the Armenian government's handling of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with neighboring Azerbaijan.

Opposition rallies are taking place in Yerevan, their participants demand Pashinyan's resignation due to the fact that he signed an agreement on a ceasefire in Karabakh. Opposition forces, demanding the departure of the head of the Cabinet, have nominated the former head of the country's government Vazgen Manukyan for the post of Prime Minister.

Opposition protest in Yerevan demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation.
On the square in the center of Yerevan, where the building of the Armenian government is located, several thousand opponents of the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gathered. By evening, the protesters set up tents there.
Several dozen protesters remained in the central square of Yerevan after the end of the active part of the protest action.
