Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who ran for president in 2012, criticized Republican senators who have announced their plans to oppose certification of the 2020 presidential election results. The current Utah Senator called the actions an “egregious ploy” that threatens democracy.

Romney was sitting by himself Monday, January 5 at the Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah when a couple of Trump-supporting constituents approached him before they boarded a flight to Washington DC together.

Filmer Lion Martell, who was on his way to the Donald Trump rally, said: “I was saddened that he’s already made up his mind about the election fraud without even reviewing any evidence. When he was walking away from us at the end, I couldn’t help but think how disappointed our founding fathers would have been in such a weak man, walking away from two constituents like a coward and giving no explanation. He was so weak in person with no presence and a total mouthpiece. The fact that he made up his mind without even considering the case being present before him showed me that he’s got his marching orders from whoever his handlers are.”

Romney later boarded the same flight as Martell, where separate video showed the plane riders chanting “traitor!” at Romney.

Martell said Romney moved up to the cockpit area because the passengers made him overly uncomfortable.
