Julian Assange supporters wait for court departure after bail denial
Supporters waited for Julian Assange to depart Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, Januar 6 after his application for bail was not granted when he was deemed to be at risk of absconding.
He was returned to Belmarsh Prison which he has been detained after being arrested and removed from the Ecuadorian Embassy in 2019.
On Monday the historic legal case saw Assange's extradition to the US blocked by judge Vanessa Baraitser.
The legal team and human rights observers for the WikiLeaks whistleblower urge the US to drop the case and not pursue an appeal.
His supporters vowed to keep fighting until Assange is a free man.
