Dong Tao chickens, also known as dragon chickens, are thick-legged birds that can sell for over 5 million Vietnamese dong (over 200 USD).

A rare breed of bird, footage from Hai Duong, outside Hanoi on January 1, shows the huge dragon-like legs of Dong Tao chickens.

A male adult Dong Tao chicken can weigh over 4.5kg and are most typically gifted during holidays.

Chicken "Dong Tao" or chicken "Dong Cao" is an endemic and rare chicken breed of Vietnam. The outstanding features of this chicken are ugly legs, large and coarse legs, when an adult can weigh over 4.5 kg. Especially chicken feet can weigh up to 1 kg.

The chickens are being introduced for sale to customers. Each chicken costs between 2 million and 5 million dong (from $ 200 to $ 450).
