China raced to build a massive, makeshift coronavirus quarantine camp, which can hold at least 3,000 people amid a new outbreak.

The drone footage, shot in the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province on January 14, shows more than 600 workers and over 100 machines working 24 hours non-stop to build up the 69,000-square-metre building with 3,000 integrated houses.

The construction work started on Wednesday (January 13) and was estimated to finish within three days.

According to reports, 20 million people were put under lockdown in Hebei Province due to increased coronavirus cases.

China has recorded the highest daily infection figures with 138 new cases since March 5 and first coronavirus death was reported in eight months.
