As Adrian MacKinnon was shoveling the snow from his Eagle River, Alaska home on January 28, he had an incredible surprise, no Bullwinkle: a young moose sneaking up on him and serenely observing his actions.

"I was out shoveling the driveway and scraping the ice off so I didn’t hear this young moose until the last minute when he walked up and just stared at me! I glanced at him and realized what was happening.
My first thought was to raise the shovel and my arms to appear as big as possible, and possibly shout to scare off the moose. But then I quickly remembered that I have an escape route, and I’d rather just back away into the safety of the garage instead of frightening the moose and possibly causing him to attack," Adrian said.

The moose stayed in the driveway for 30 minutes licking the salt off of the driveway and ice before continuing on.

Incredible footage has captured the moment a man shoveling snow off his driveway was paid a surprise visit from a moose. The incident occurred on the 28th of January in Eagle River, Alaska. Adrian MacKinnon, who clearing his driveway while listening to a podcast, failed to notice the young moose sneaking up on him. It wasn’t until the moose was right next to Adrian that he looked up and saw the young, although still rather large, animal staring at him.

Adrian initially contemplated raising the shovel to make himself bigger as well as shouting to possibly scare off the moose. However, he swiftly decided the best solution would be to slowly back off into the safety of his garage instead of possibly spooking the moose into an attack. As Adrian made his way into the garage the curious moose proceeded to lick salt off the driveway for approximately half an hour before eventually making its way down the street.

Speaking about the video Adrian said: “ I was out shoveling the driveway and scraping the ice off. I like to listen to podcasts while I’m doing work around the house. Well, the shoveling, as you can tell, is quite loud so I didn’t hear this young moose until the last minute when he walked up and just stared at me! I glanced at him and realized what was happening.
