A group of glacier explorers swiftly exited an ice cave after they heard a loud cracking noise.

Mary Zenger filmed as her group travelled inside the Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska, and entered a cave buried under 130 feet of ice.

She said: "The ice caves appear and change day by day as the ice shifts. After a week of bitter cold, the ice caves were considered safe enough to enter."

The group began to panic as they heard a loud crack reverberate around the icy cave.

This footage was filmed on February 15.
