National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspected the security of the Jakarta Cathedral Church on Saturday night (3/4/2021) ahead of the Easter mass which will be held on Sunday (4/4/2021).
The National Police Chief emphasized that the National Police and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) always take care so that the Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Mass services run smoothly and solemnly.
Security in the number of churches throughout Indonesia was increased due to a suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
After the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral Church, the police carried out raids on suspected terrorists in several areas in Indonesia including Jakarta, Bekasi, Makassar, East Java, and Yogyakarta. The National Police Chief said that up to Saturday night there had been 60 suspected terrorists who had been arrested.
