My husband was cutting down a tree in our backyard when a thorn punctured his hand. He came to me and said it hurt quite bad and it might be still in there. He went to the doctor the next day and the doctor tried to find a thorn. The doctor could not find it and so my husband was given pain medication and antibiotics. The wound healed well and there was still just a small bump on his hand. Two weeks later however he got blood poisoning. Or we thought maybe something sting or bit him. He got antibiotics again and a week later he was feeling good without any pain. He still had the bump on his hand and this he didn't like so he took and need and punctured the bump. Only fluids came out and he covered it up with a plaster. The next day while out in the field he felt a sharp pain, he opened the plaster and saw the back of the torn sticking out. He pulled on it and out came this huge thorn that had broken of and was in his hand for more than 4 weeks. We could not believe it.
