This breathtaking footage shows the moment an enormous avalanche cascaded down the side of Mont Blanc.
The avalanche roared through the Haute-Savoie region of the French alps following reports of a ‘huge crack’ heard by locals on April 15.
The incredible footage, filmed in Chamonix resort located near the base of Mont Blanc, shows the avalanche as it descended from the Taconnaz glacier.
Local man Alexandre Thomas was in his nearby home at the time of the avalanche said: “I looked out the window and saw the avalanche.
“I immediately went to grab my phone to film it because it’s so rare to catch them on camera."
