Couples hired people to queue overnight outside a Civil Affairs Bureau office in China for them to get marriage registration on Chinese "Valentine's Day".

The video, filmed in the city of Zhengzhou in Henan Province on the night of May 20, shows people hired by couples to queue for them to get marriage registration sleeping or playing cards outside the Civil Affairs Bureau.

In another clip, crowds were seen waiting in the hall of the Civil Affairs Bureau in the morning of May 20.

According to reports, the numbers five, two and zero phonetically sound the same as "I love you" in Mandarin, so couples think registering on May 20 is good luck.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
