Colombia's wave of anti-government protests entered their fourth week on Wednesday, as unions, student groups and others turned out at marches to demand social change amid intermittent talks between the government and strike organizers.

We see a fairly large mobilization throughout the country, from various sectors, I think this is a defeat for Uribe. It is a defeat for those who voted "No" in the plebiscite, or a reaction to those who voted "No". It is a country that is mobilizing, that is asking for peace; that's asking for Human Rights and basic income. And here we see it, all kinds of sectors have mobilized. And I think that this is very important, it is like a wake-up call for the extreme right. It is a "No", to the extreme rights, in addition to all the demands of the social sectors.

The excesses of the state have been absolutely evident. And that despite the fact that there is an international press, a national press, and pending international organizations; even so, Human Rights are violated. And that's thanks to the fact that citizens have reported it. What is going to happen after the National Strike seems more worrying to me. When there are no more cameras, when there is no longer an international press. What is going to happen? What will be the reaction of the extreme right towards those who have demonstrated? Towards social organizations and human rights defenders. I am more concerned about the situation after the strike; the human rights situation after the National Strike, when the lights and cameras are off.
