Palestinian traders living in the blockaded Gaza Strip began reopening their shops on Friday (May 21) as a ceasefire between between Hamas and Israel appeared to be holding.

Video filmed in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun shows daily life starting to return.

Resident Mohammed Abu Sedo said: "The daily life is back to its normal and the shops reopened again. Also, the displaced people came back to their homes. The people, psychologically, will feel better. During the 11 days [of air strikes] we were moving from place to place and from shelter to another shelter."
