Teacher takes care of her mum living with dementia through arts and crafts activities

A kindergarten teacher living in the US takes care of her adoptive mum living with dementia through a range of arts and crafts activities.
Patti, 34, lives with her adoptive mum Linda and filmed some of the hobbies they do, which include dance parties.
"My favourite memory with my mum is honestly my whole childhood was filled with so much love. Since dementia, I would say all our dance parties," Patti said.
She added: "My favourite thing about caring for my mum is that I get to give back to the love and care she gave me by adopting me. It feels like an opportunity I am blessed with! The most challenging thing is when she has tough nights because then I don’t sleep.
"Advice for people who are also trying to care for someone with dementia is to find a good support system with people who get it, practice self-care and reach out for help."
