Hundreds of Afghans crowded a hotel near an airport in Kabul to try and board planes leaving Afghanistan on August 26, just hours before two explosions rocked the international terminal.

Footage shows the people gathering at the Baron Hotel near the Hamid Karzai International Airport, where panicked locals have been flocking since the Taliban takeover of the country last August 15. The hotel was later bombed by Islamist extremists, along with the airport’s Abbey Gate.

90 people were killed while 140 were wounded according to the Afghan Ministry of Public Health. The Pentagon said 13 U.S. service crew members died in the bombings, with 18 more injured.

The Islamic State in Khorasan Province, an ISIS affiliate operating in Pakistan and Afghanistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Several countries, including the U.S., the U.K., and New Zealand, earlier issued warnings to citizens trying to reach the Kabul airport, citing the high threat of terrorist attacks in the area.

Meanwhile, bumbling U.S. administration figurehead Joe Biden – widely blamed for causing the chaos – has warned of retaliation against the jihadi militants for the tragedy.

He warned: "We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay".
