An amusing video has emerged of a daughter announcing to her unsuspecting parents that she's pregnant with the aid of a pair of grandparent mugs.

Filmed in Idaho, US, earlier this month, the entertaining footage captures the initial grumpy confusion in their reaction to the announcement.

The grandmother-to-be later wrote online: “My daughter had been teasing us about being grandparents ... we have been fighting the thought.

"She told all my friends first so they could set us up by giving us mugs that said Grandma and grandpa.....Obviously we thought she was playing a joke on us.

“We were completely taken off guard and we're completely clueless anyone was video taping us...hence my language.”
