Beautiful footage shows a herd of stags in Richmond Park, London, cooling off during the heatwave.

Max Ellis an illustrator from Twickenham was photographing stags in Richmond Park, London during the heat of a British heatwave.

During the hot weather a group of stags on the banks of a stream took delight in a quick midday splash. Even going so far as to make their way along the cool water in a perfect line.

Max, 59 said:

“During the hot weather the stags are plagued by flies and a cool bath must be a great relief.”

“I was delighted by the way they had so neatly arranged themselves in an orderly queue."

“Generally, well behaved with only a little bit of Argy bargy in the middle.

“I was quite a way off laying across the curving trunk of a tree that leant across the stream.”
