Feel the Chill: Hypnotic and Unsettling Close-Up of a Moving Starfish

Buy video

A haunting underwater moment — get ready to feel a mix of awe and unease as you witness a starfish moving in extreme close-up.
This striking footage captures the eerie, almost alien motion of a live starfish as it slowly crawls across the sand. Measuring about 25 cm in length and weighing roughly 400 grams, the starfish was found entangled in a fishing net and washed ashore at Ha Tien beach, Kien Giang province, Vietnam, on the morning of September 15, 2021.
Seeing its tiny tube feet wriggle in synchronized motion — usually hidden underneath — creates a strangely mesmerizing yet spine-tingling effect.
The video was filmed by explorer Yunnan around noon on the same day. A rare and intense glimpse into the mysterious world beneath the sea.
