STORYLINE:
A Palestinian man was killed on Thursday by Israeli soldiers near the borderline area between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses said.
Medics at al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza City told Xinhua that Mohammad Ammar, 41 years old, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers stationed at the borders, east of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses said that Ammar, who is a hunter of birds, approached the borderline area with Israel, then an Israeli soldier opened fire on him, adding that Ammar was left bleeding until he died.
They added that a medical rescue team arrived at the area after coordination with the Israeli side and took the man's body to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media said that an Israeli army spokesman announced that an Israeli army force stationed on the borders with eastern Gaza opened fire on a group of Palestinians who approached the borders.
