Tony Fisher from Suffolk, England has constructed a full 32 piece chess set using miniature Rubik's Cubes as the core for each piece.

The set can then be used for a regular game of chess or each piece can be scrambled and solved as demonstrated. The set took several months to complete using a mix of 3D printing and hand sculpting to create masters, according to Fischer.

The set can then be used for a regular game of chess or each piece can be scrambled and solved as demonstrated. The set took several months to complete using a mix of 3D printing and hand sculpting to create masters. These were used to make rubber moulds which in turn were used to cast the parts in resin that were attached to the commercially available 2x2x2s. Although other puzzle chess sets exist this is the first twisty puzzle / Rubik's Cube version.
