Waterspout appears over fishing boat in the Philippines
Fishermen were terrified as they watched a waterspout form next to their boat in the Philippines.
Onlooker Jerry Kite captured the air column descending from the clouds while he was sailing on the coast of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur province on October 12.
He said: ‘The weather was bad at the time and it was scary to look at because it was close to my colleagues’ boat. There were also many tornadoes in our area this month.’
Waterspouts are intense columns of swirling tornado clouds that form over a body of water. They are most commonly found in subtropical areas and disappear shortly after they come into contact with land.
