American Airlines has cancelled more than 1,200 flights this weekend due to weather and staffing issues, according to US reports.

Footage from one frustrated passenger shows lengthy queues at Dallas Airport as he waited to board a flight to Los Angeles Airport.

“My original 8am flight to LAX out of St. Louis was canceled,” he explained. “The only flight available to LA was at 3:30pm to Dallas. Our connection was suppose to be four hours. The plane was suppose to take off at 9pm. It was again delayed till 11:15pm. We didn’t take off till midnight. American Airlines’ customer relations called me after waiting four hours and immediately put me on hold for another hour before I hung up. My travel day ended up being 24 hours long. I have another 9000 miles of flights booked with American Airlines this year. Now, I may have to make different accommodations.”
