Rat chews through cable fixing cheapest fuel in Britain at petrol station in Kent, UK

A rat or rodents chewed through a data cable controlling a petrol price sign at Tesco in Sheerness - which meant the sign couldn't be updated - resulting in the forecourt offering the cheapest fuel in the country over the last week (or longer) at an advertisied 134.9p for unleaded and 136.9p for diesel.

Today (November 10) the petrol station was closed so engineers could rectify the problem.

The site is adjacent to a nearby mote which is where the rat is believed to have originated from.
