A driver of a Range Rover turns across a cyclist, and then turns off the road, directly in front of the cyclist, causing him to crash into the kerb. The driver then drives off without stopping. The cyclist was left with badly bruised ribs, and lasting pain.

The incident was reported to the Police, who weren't interested in pursuing this, as the driver claimed to have no recollection of there being an accident. The cyclist then successfully used the legal cover from their home insurance to launch a successful claim against the driver for damages.
