Thai officials put on a tourism festival this week to try and woo back holidaymakers following the economic devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Footage shows the colourful dancers and street food vendors at the Lumpini Park in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday February 21.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said it launched the 'family-friendly event to display the highlights of cultures from each region to visitors'.

Stands included traditional silk umbrella makers, traditional dancers and even a replica dragon-shaped Buddhist temple.

Travel restrictions introduced in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic decimated tourism in the country, with economists warning the economy could take until 2025 to fully recover.
