Resident shocked to find wild monkey stealing food from his kitchen
This is the astonishing moment a resident found a wild monkey stealing food from his kitchen.
Nithipat Subsamruay was alerted by a loud noise inside his home and walked into the room to find a ravenous macaque munching on rice in Chonburi, Thailand.
Footage shows Nithipat attempting to shoo the primate away, but the creature remained unfazed during the encounter on December 14.
The macaque continued to nibble grains from the container, seemingly unfazed by the man's presence.
Nithipat said that his home is in a forested area where monkeys are a common sight.
He added: 'Monkeys have come here many times before. Since my house also operates as a cafe, they often come looking for food.'
Authorities have advised the public not to approach wild monkeys in the area to avoid possible attacks.
Monkey bites can cause serious wound infections and may transmit dangerous diseases, including the herpes B virus and rabies.
