Residents of the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv fled this morning (February 24) as Russia launched a "full-scale" invasion of the country.

Footage showed long lines of cars heading away from the city.

The filmer can be heard in the video saying:

"We drove 10 kilometres from Kharkiv. There is a gas station on the right, again long lines. People are refuelling. Lines, lines, lines. The lines are, of course, very long. And that's basically a traffic jam, everyone is leaving Kharkiv."

A steady stream of loud explosions have been heard in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city.
