The former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has appealed to authorities to transfer him to Kyiv.

He said on February 24: "You know that as a result of the injuries I suffered in prison, I have developed a severe neurological condition. Prison doctors, who are in very difficult conditions, really try to stabilize these symptoms as they are getting worse.

"I appeal to you to accept the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and allow my medical transfer to the city of Kyiv. Postpone the verdict temporarily until the situation stabilizes. I am a citizen of Ukraine, I am the incumbent chairman of the National Reform Council of Ukraine."

Saakashvili was arrested after the government accused him of abuse of power after his term ended in 2013.

The third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili appeals to the Georgian authorities to transfer him to Kiev through medical transfer due to his health condition.

Saakashvili also appeals to the authorities to postpone his temporary sentence.

According to Saakashvili, if the government agrees to his proposal, he promises to return to Georgia.

I appeal to you to accept the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and allow my medical transfer to the city of Kiev. Postpone the verdict temporarily until the situation stabilizes. I am a citizen of Ukraine, I am the incumbent chairman of the National Reform Council of Ukraine. My office is located directly next to the office of President Zelenky and still works today, by the way, I have daily contact with them. As soon as my state of health and the situation in general slightly stabilizes, I give you an honest word, and I never break my word, that I will arrive in Tbilisi at the very first summon if you decide to continue this criminal prosecution, which I consider unfair. If you agree to my transfer to Kiev, it will be implemented by the third largest European country from which you have had offers many times. If you agree with this proposal, I will call on all supporters to stop protests during this period," Saakashvili said.

At the same time, according to Mikheil Saakashvili, he will not interfere in Georgian politics during his stay abroad.

"If you bring me back, this condition will not be fulfilled. I am well aware that it is very risky to come to Kiev now. Their groups have the names and surnames of people they want to destroy and I am one of the first on the list, I know this for sure. I ask the leadership of Georgia to approach this proposal of mine rationally, and in turn I am ready to forget all the torture and ill-treatment I have endured in prison and many other things”, said Saakashvili.
