Palestinians, accompanied by masked men carrying assault rifles, carried the body of Ahmad Massad around the streets of Jenin ahead of his funeral in the West Bank city on Wednesday 27 April.

The 21-year-old was shot dead earlier on Wednesday by Israeli forces, who also injured three others, during military raids in Jenin, officials said.

Jani Abu Jokha, head of the Ibn Sina hospital, told local news agency WAFA that Ahmad Mohammad Massad, from the village of Burqin, was killed by a bullet to the head.

Intense clashes broke out between local youths and soldiers during raids in the city and its refugee camp.

Israel said the raids were to arrest terror suspects and pin a demolition order to the home of Ra’ad Hazem, who shot three people in a Tel Aviv bar on 7 April.

Israel's army said gunmen opened fire its troops when they entered the refugee camp.

The crowd following Massad's body as it was carried through the streets, chanting slogans condemning Israel's actions.

The Secretary of the Fatah movement in Jenin, Atta Abu Rumaila, spoke about the incident (in Arabic).

Israeli forces Wednesday shot dead a Palestinian youth and injured three others during a military raid into the West Bank district of Jenin, according to official sources.

Jani Abu Jokha, head of the Ibn Sina hospital, told WAFA that Ahmad Mohammad Massad, 21, from the village of Burqin, was pronounced dead after he was shot with a bullet in the head, adding that three other youths were wounded.

Dozens of Palestinians wandered the city street carrying Massad's body and chanting slogans condemning Israeli crimes.

Israeli forces earlier today raided Jenin city and the Jenin refugee camp, where intense clashes broke out between the youths and the soldiers.
