A historic 120-year-old town centre clock-tower has been extensively refurbished 'just-in-time' for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Sheerness, Kent, UK by Swale Borough Council.

The clock-tower was originally erected in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII and has been extensively refurbished by specialist clock maker Smith of Derby.

The newly restored time-piece was revealed in full this afternoon (May 18) after workers removed scaffolding to reveal the magnificent green-gold colour scheme in its full glory.

An official ceremony will be held once minor works have been completed.
