This is the bizarre moment four frogs tried to jump together while stacked atop one another.

Footage shows the group of amphibians floating in the water before attempting to hop out simultaneously from the garden pond in Chonburi province, Thailand on May 20.

Onlooker Wayo Chanok said: 'I think the bottom frog must be feeling heavy. I wonder why the other frogs were behind it.'

The bizarre behaviour may be a form of amplexus - a copulatory embrace in which male frogs mount females and cling onto them while mating.

Rival males have been known to interfere with already-paired frogs by attacking them or climbing on top of them.
