Disgruntled employee stabs boss in the heart after being denied cash advance
A disgruntled employee stabbed his boss in the heart after being denied a cash advance.
The embittered worker Suppawat Naknin, 28, allegedly killed his boss, Tanapol Reantong, 31, outside a coffee factory in Surat Thani province in southern Thailand on May 29.
The factory owner reportedly rejected Suppawat's request for an advance payment, causing the worker's temper to flare. Suppawat is believed to have plunged the blade into his boss's chest before fleeing into a nearby grove 300 metres away from the scene.
Police arrived after receiving reports of the alleged crime, and found a pool of blood in the factory's parking lot. Tanapol was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to the fatal wound during transit.
The manhunt for Suppawat did not last long as officers quickly cornered him in the woods. His clothes were still bloodied, and he was carrying the suspect murder weapon. He allegedly confessed to murdering his boss.
CCTV from outside the warehouse shows how the fight started before Suppawat lunged at the employer, who collapsed on the ground.
Suppawat said: ‘It was me who stabbed Tanapol to death with a knife. I asked him for an advance but he refused and he even complained at me.
‘He said terrible things and it made me angry. We had a heated argument so I took out the knife and stabbed him in the chest one time.’
The suspect added that he fled the scene after seeing Tanapol collapse to the ground.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Supakit Prayurabutr said: ‘We have filed charges against the suspect for murder. We will be questioning him to take legal proceedings further.’
