Footage of this year's brutal cheese rolling contest in Gloucestershire, UK.

A special Jubilee edition of the race took place on Sunday (June 5) at Cooper's Hill in the town of Brockworth, near Gloucester. There were several injuries, including a reported broken leg.

Participants race down the 200-yard-long hill after a round of Double Gloucester cheese is sent rolling down it. The event was traditionally held by and for the people who live in the local village of Brockworth, but now people from all over the world take part. The event is thought to be around 600 years old but has not taken place since 2019 after a pandemic-related hiatus.

Chris Anderson won his 23rd race, which took place in wet and slippery conditions, and told Newsflare that this was his final event.

Competitors travel from all over the world to take part.
