On the morning of June 5, Russian missiles hit the city of Kyiv after a five-week-period of relative peace for the Ukrainian capital.

The missiles targeted the Darnytsia Car Repair Plant on the left bank of the capital.

The explosions took place in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the capital, said the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko. One person was injured.

The Russian military claims that they were aiming to destroy armoured vehicles stored there, but the rail company Ukrzaliznytsia claims that only grain trucks were damaged.

The chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia invited journalists to a press conference at the DVRZ to demonstrate that "Russia has once again lied."

Footage from on the ground seemingly shows no military vehicles at the site.

The morning shelling of Kyiv was from the Caspian Sea, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. According to preliminary data, the missiles were launched from Tu-95 aircraft from the Caspian Sea.
