Some photographers in Sri Lanka got a little closer to the elephants on safari than they bargained for on Thursday 9 June.

They had gone to see the animals near the lake at Kumana when one of the female elephants, walking alongside its baby and the rest of the herd, broke away to charge at the photographers.

The nervous group was eventually able to scare her away by shouting loudly, but not without a few tense moments and the jumbo trumpeting loudly at them.

this is impressive sighting at kumana. we went to photograph a group of elephants on the lake. so there is female with a little baby. so she has seen us and she chasing us. she came with trumpet sound and came to closer and we shouted to her and then she run away from us
