An urban explorer and ghost hunter has left TikTok users terrified after exploring an infamous amusement park forgotten in time – and it's even built on a burial ground.

Kalani, 23, explored the abandoned amusement park, located in Rock, Virginia, US, which he claims to be one of the most "haunted" locations in the country.

Some of the paranormal signs include screams and mysterious chants that have reportedly been heard at the site, and swing sets that "move on their own".

After its initial closure in 1966, the 800-acre space was purchased by a construction company, which later decided against its building plans after discovering Native American artefacts were buried underground.

Kalani recently shared a video of the space on TikTok, where it has since gone viral with over 8 million views.

"It turns out that the amusement park was built on a Native American burial ground," Kalani told NeedToKnow.online.

"During the 1700s, the Clay family moved out [to the area] and established the farm.

"Tragedy struck the family in 1783, after a Native American tribe allegedly killed two children and burned one at the stake.

"Their father decided to retaliate with help from other nearby settlers and soon the property traded hands.

"In 1962, rides and attractions were set up alongside water slides, circular wings, a dance hall and speakeasy.

"At some point things started to go bad after a little girl died on the swings and a young boy drowned in the pond.

"I think six visitors died during the park's short history and it was left abandoned.

"It ranks as one of the 'most terrifying places in America' and visitors have heard of mysterious chants, footsteps and children's voices.

"Sometimes, one of the swings where the little girl died will move on its own."

A set of images show remnants from the park's past, including a decaying ferris wheel appearing eerily vacant, as well as the aforementioned swing set, covered in rust.

Other images show the old livery with hand-painted signs and a creepy ventriloquists dummy left to decay.

The amusement park also has a dark past, which includes six deaths including a terrifying drowning incident.

Kalani said: "At the swing set, we had electromagnetic field devices going off quite a few times, where a little girl was apparently killed on.

"We also heard footsteps in the woods.

"I'd say the best way to describe [the park] is run-down - there's very evident signs of nature taking over.

"There were no signs of damage, as the property is still managed by the family [who last purchased it].

"The only two remaining pieces of the park are the Ferris wheel and swings – all the other rides have been sold off."

Kalani shared the eerie findings on TikTok, which has since received 814,000 likes and 8.3 million views.

In the clip, he begins by panning through a gate which is in the shape of a clown's mouth.

As he walks through the park, he shows an abandoned ferris wheel, an eerie set of swings and various other rides which have fallen into disrepair.

Users took to the comments to share their reactions, with many terrified to watch the whole video.

One viewer said: “Sorry I gotta walk my fish.”

“'Burial ground' you mean cemetery…no wonder it’s “haunted” someone built an amusement park over a cemetery," another person said.

Someone else wrote: “First thing I see I'm running faster than flash and sonic.”

“Just waiting for twisty and dandy to come out and play," one viewer commented.

Another person added: “This reminds me of the abandoned amusement park in the newest goosebumps”

Kalani added: "The location would appeal to a variety of people, not just the paranormal adrenaline junkies.

"It's estimated 3,500 people are buried there and it's an overall spooky place to visit."
