Adorable panda celebrates Thai zoo's founding anniversary with bucketful of snacks
An adorable panda bear celebrated a zoo's founding anniversary with a bucketful of snacks in Thailand.
Footage shows the female panda named Lin Hui feasting on bamboo shoots and apples during Chiang Mai zoo's 45th anniversary on June 16.
Her snacks were arranged on a bucket with ice to resemble a cake while balloons decorated the enclosure.
Delighted zoo visitors and officials were seen watching the bear from a glass viewing wall while she ate her special treats.
Zoo director Wuttichai Muangmhan said: ‘Every year, we celebrate our anniversary with a special treat for all the animals. We have also give a plaque of recognition for our hardworking employees that helped maintained a great place for the animals.'
Zoo employees then sung a birthday song together and blew candles on a jelly cake for the occasion. Tourists were given servings of the cake afterwards.
Lin Hui was on loan to Thailand since 2003 from China. She used to have a companion named Chuang Chiang who died of heart failure in 2019. An investigation was launched to find the bear's cause of death as Chuang Chuang was reportedly obese until Chinese authorities conducted an autopsy revealing heart failure as the cause of death.
