A 20-year-old TikTok star has broken over 100 bones throughout her short lifetime due to a rare condition – with her earliest fracture happening before she was even born.

Beatriz Fernandes DaSilva, a student from São Paulo, Brazil, first developed brittle bones while still in the womb.

Since then, the condition has caused "horrible" pain with frequent breaks, as well as stunted her growth.

"I began to suffer after getting a fracture while inside my mother's womb," Beatriz, who stands at 4ft tall, told NeedToKnow.online.

"When she slipped and hit her stomach, she found out that I broke my arm.

"Living with brittle bones is sometimes difficult but over time I got used to it.

"I need to be very careful with some daily tasks, be careful not to fall on the ground and not to slip on anything."

"The pain when I get a fracture is horrible.

"Some people think that people with weak bones do not feel pain, but we do, and a lot."

Beatriz has taken to TikTok and Instagram to share her experiences to help others, with over 117,000 dedicated followers.

The severity of her fractures varies but she has been forced to have surgery 10 times so far.

The social media influencer, who also runs her own online store with the help of her girlfriend, has to be extremely careful not to fall over or fall into things, as even slipping on the floor can cause a break.

Beatriz said: "One [incident] I do remember was when I was playing tag and I bumped into a mattress, fell on the floor and broke my leg.

"It literally came into the shape of an S, the pain was tremendous!

"My mom called the ambulance right away."

Once, during third grade in elementary school, she broke her leg when a boy kissed it.

She said: "I remember a guy wanted to kiss everyone's leg, including mine.

"When he came towards me to kiss my foot, already jokingly, I wasn't looking at him, so he took my hidden leg and turned it to kiss it.

"He made a movement of almost 90 degrees and it broke instantly.

"It was such the pain and the shock that I ended up breaking my other leg, so I suffered two fractures at the same time."

Beatriz uses a wheelchair to move around but struggles in her hometown, with many areas not accessible for people with disabilities.

She said: "I use a motorised wheelchair for my locomotion, and it is extremely difficult for me to move around here in Brazil.

"Most places are not accessible."

Despite the risks and struggles of her day-to-day life, Beatriz is determined to enjoy the same things other people her age do, including partying until the early hours.

She added: "Today, at 20 years old, I go out at night and I go to clubs.

"And I confess that most of the time I come back at dawn, almost at dawn!"
