Shocking footage shows how a family had to wade through waist-deep water after their home was flooded in South Korea.

The deluge swamped the property following heavy rain in Hwaseong-si on August 8.

Authorities said at least eight people have died in the catastrophic floods in the capital city of Seoul. The Interior and Safety Ministry said 14 others were injured while six more were missing.

South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol has ordered the evacuation of residents from high-risk areas as the Korean Meteorological Agency expects heavy rains to continue battering Seoul until Wednesday.

Some 16 inches of rain had fallen in parts of Seoul on Monday - reportedly the highest since rainfall records in the country began.
